New BMW 5 Series Review 2024, Price & Performance?

Welcome to the unveiling of the much-anticipated eighth-generation BMW 5 Series sedan in India! Following the April launch of the i5 electric variant, BMW's legendary 5 Series with a traditional combustion engine has finally arrived. This is no ordinary debut; it’s the long-wheelbase G68 that's been worth the wait!

The version for India marks a break from tradition because it’s not as much about the person sat up front as it is about the one sat at the back And But the one we get is the G68 because it's the long wheelbase and We had to wait because of the right-hand drive and the CKD requirement in India.

New BMW 5 Series: Exterior Design :

he G68 5 Series isn’t just bigger; it’s bolder. It does have all those elements you need. Matrix LED, really thick DRLs, which are no longer rings, but you still have the four-eye BMW look. Now, the Car is fairly sporty looking. The alloy wheels are just 18 inches wrapped in relatively narrow 225 section but chunky 55 aspect ratio tyres but other markets get much larger wheels. You do have 19-inch as M Alloy wheels in 245/55 rubber. the wheel especially with a fat rubber wall.  Now, run-flat tyres, BMW is moving away from them but so this car doesn't get them. the length is 212 millimeters longer than the  car. It's really large and very different to what you'd expect from BMW, a huge 5. M Sport trim is standard  you either get this aluminum finish or a bronze finish. The Bumper it's kind of finished off in a dark black kind of matte finish. And gets a sporty front bumper with lots of cuts and creases.

New BMW 5 Series: Rear Seat Space:

the first thought is about space. that a covered. Lots of legroom, a great amount of headroom, and shoulder room. the 31-degree backrest angle is also nice and relaxed and you've got the drop-down armrest. The armrest can be tucked back to accommodate a third passenger, There's a wireless charging pad and cupholders and  You do have A/C controls down here and it makes things more comfortable. but you don't get the option to adjust the recline angle. But The seat's very comfortable.

New BMW 5 Series: Interior and quality

a curved display 14.9-inch touchscreen and almost 13-inch instrument cluster digital dials. It's all very well finished. This panel here is like a touch panel again from the iX, the different drive modes.  You've got the rotary dial, which is finished in the crystalline finish. And here’s 7 airbags including one between the driver and passenger and all manners of electronic safety aids. you've got a huge panoramic sunroof and Titanium Bronze detailing inside as well, along with ambient lightning-like streaks on the wood and Bowers & Wilkins sound system his is a properly high-end interior.

New BMW 5 Series: Engine, Ride & Handling

BMW's familiar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that makes 258hp and 400Nm A despite a diesel engine available in the global market, the India 5 series comes with a single petrol engine. the boost mode add 17phb and 200 nm extra performance for 10 sec. and works really well with that 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox to give you that hurried experience. I would have loved to see the 3.0-litre inline-six and not just the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. Acceleration is smooth, power delivery is very linear and nice. The BMW 5 Series is pretty easy to drive around town because the steering is light and there’s good visibility all around.
